stability and ease of use
This is absolutely the best stand I have used for needlepoint. Well worth the cost ...

I wish I got this one years ago
I’ve always used wooden stands because they looked prettier. But, after years of use and adjusting, they are no longer functional. This stand is very sturdy and easy to adjust. I only got the stand to start, but will be ordering the magnetic board holder and light bracket as soon as I can. The clamp held my scroll rod beautifully & it’s easy to get to the back of the piece to end the thread. I was told it would be three weeks or more before it arrived, but it was delivered in about 8 days. Very happy with my purchase

Fast delivery time from Very Crafty in Great Britian
Received this workstand from Great Britain almost 3 weeks ahead of the promised date, with good packaging (no parts damaged or lost, hooray!) and really clear assembly instructions. Took me less than a minute to set it up, then just a few more to see if it works with my needlepoint scroll frame (26" wide). Seems to work fine though I may do what another reviewer suggested and put a fabric-wrapped brick on the bottom plate to add a bit of weight to anchor the stand. I may also add little felt feet to the bottom to keep it from scratching my hardwood floor. Great tool for the price, and not too expensive considering the small fortune I already spent on the large hand-painted needlepoint canvas plus silk & specialty thread - - I need a large frame to even stitch it so this workstand is invaluable.

Almost perfect
I did a lot of research before buying this stand. I have carpal tunnel and tendonitis, so it's difficult to hold my larger pieces. I tried all of the cheaper wooden stands, and they just didn't have the strength to hold my scroll frames. This stand also has a very convenient and easy way to flip your work to the back without removing it from the stand every time you need to finish a thread. I couldn't find that with any of the wooden stands. The stand is sturdy and simple. I am disappointed though that it will not hold my qsnaps without an extra attachment. There are some tricks I read about online, but I haven't tried them out yet. Fortunately I do not need to spring for the longer arm either. I'm sure it's all worth it, but economically this is not a great time to be splurging on much of anything. The stand actually came all the way from the UK and it arrived faster than things in the US do! Even after paying shipping costs it was cheaper than what some US based sellers wanted, so double check before you buy.I would recommend it to anyone that cross stitches or embroiders and can't or doesn't want to have to hold your work in hand all the time.

Wonderful Lowery Workstand!
I love the Lowery Workstand. I use wooden stretcher bars of various sizes, small to large for needlepointing. Getting to the back of your work is so easy without having to remove the item from the clamp. Adjustable heights and tilt positioning, you can swing it away when you need to get up from whatever you're sitting on. Everything just rotates or adjusts with almost no effort so you can easily work on your project comfortably. It's very easy to assemble, high quality material which will last. I can't think of any cons at all. Simple and totally functional! The delivery was extremely fast.

Shop around
The stand itself is great. The Amazon price, not so much. I found mine regionally by looking online and saved $60 after shipping costs. Buy it for sure, but buy carefully.

Completely satisfied!
Excellent item. Quality construction and I think the best stand for doing needle work. Stand is to the side and out of the way when not using. I can use next to my recliner and I can elevate my feet while stitching. It’s easy to flip your work to the back side and then back to front side of work to begin and end the threads. I have placed a fabric encased brick to the floor plate so that when the needle work frame is pushed away and more weight is hanging opposite the base it is sufficiently counterbalanced. This is working well! Good work and design Lowery! Item was shipped very promptly from Kentucky Amazon fulfillment center. Better price than buying from Great Britain sources or other US sources. I’ve been using for about 3 weeks. I placed an upside down yellow clipboard on horizontal arm to hold my pattern chart on magnetic board. Works well for me.
