Q: Will this device work in the uk with it originating from German? Apparently they have area codes programmed?

The location is detected on the first boot when you do initial setup and most people use custom firmwares that remove the regional restrictions anyway so it doesn't matter. The official store ships them all from China but at a third of the price btw.
